The Kitzsteinhorn is famed for its deep snow trails. Freeriders appreciate the five signposted routes, the ‘Freeride Info Base’ at the Alpincenter and the ‘Info Points’ at the entrance to the respective trails, which provide important tips for staying safe out in the terrain. For ski tourers, on the Kitzsteinhorn there are two marked-out ascent routes along the piste from Langwied – up to the ‘Schneekönigin’, pleasure tourers tackle 474 metres ascent to the Alpincenter at 2450 metres. Here the ‘Eisbrecher’ runs parallel to the Schneekönigin, continuing to the mountain station for the Maurerlift at 2875 metres. In total, ambitious tourers cover 899 metres ascent here. The route on the Maiskogel starts at the Maiskogel car park, proceeding up to the mountain station for the Almbahn at 1733 metres and the valley station for 3K K-onnection at 1570 metres.
